(See the Property Inspection Map with this listing). The gem of the property, Plumb Brook, a classified, stocked, trout stream, originates from lands to the south, including the Orebed Creek and Silver Hill State Forests.  Feeder streams along the way contribute to its width and depth, with it eventually passing along the western border of the property.  North of the property the stream proceeds through Whippoorwill Corners State Forest before reaching its destination in the Grass River, just east of Russell.  The Grass River meets the St. Lawrence River, just a few miles east of and small game hunting on the property should be good to excellent, as there are abundant signs of deer, turkey, ducks and grouse here and in the region.  One might also expect to see black bears, coyotes, foxes, bobcats and even an occasional moose in the neighborhood throughout the year.  Other activities you would enjoy on the property, or nearby would be; hiking, biking, bird watching, four wheeling, snow-mobiling, x-country skiing, and snow shoeing to name a few.  What a thrill for those of you that can work from home! St. Lawrence County is popular for its centers of higher education.  People from all walks of life come to this area to study, or teach at one of 5 renowned colleges in the County:  Clarkson and St Lawrence Universities and SUNY Colleges at Potsdam, Canton and the ESF Ranger School. The 'North Country' is a very rural and friendly part of the state.  Grocery and department stores and hospitals are found in neighboring communities, Gouverneur and Canton, just 20 minutes away.  The property lies outside of, but within a few miles of the Adirondack State Park, within an hour and a half drive of the High Peaks, and ~40 minutes from the St. Lawrence River, the Ogdensburg International Airport and Canada.  This property might be considered a peaceful haven or wilderness retreat... and possibly the best investment ever made for you and your family!
