    Dan Hall Mountain Resort was built in the beginning of 1963 and opened for business on May 15, 1965. 2011 will make the 48th year in business. It is situated on top of a mountain in the heart of the Appalachian mountains of southwest Virginia. The golf course and lodge are situated on approximately 380 acres of land. Breath taking views can be seen from any part of the property.LocationWe are located in Southwestern Virginia, 1.3 miles off of Rt. 58A which is a major 4 lane highway that connects Interstate 81 at Abingdon, Va. to US 23 at Norton, Va. Norton, Va. is about fifteen minutes away and has a lot of restraints and shopping including some of the larger chain stores like Lowe's, K Mart, and a super Wal-Mart. Our largest cities are 45 minutes to an hour away and include Bristol, Va. / Tn., Kingsport, Tn. and Pikeville, Ky. Tri Cities Regional airport is the closest commercial airport and is located between Bristol and Kingsport Tennessee. There are several commercial carriers serving this airport such as Delta, U S Air, United and several others. There is a private airport in Wise, Va. that serves private planes. This is about 20 minutes from the property.The LodgeThe lodge was built in 1972 and completely remolded in 1999. It consist of 10 bedrooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, a dining room capable of seating eighty people, a laundry room, an office and a large deck that surrounds the building. Each room has its own bath / shower, cable tv, wireless internet, and unlimited phone service. It stays booked at 100% capacity.The Golf Course and Club HouseThe 9 hole golf course takes up about 80 acres of the property thus leaving a lot of property for development of rental cabins, etc. The front 9 holes are a par 33 / 2505 yards. The back 9 holes are a par 35 / 2765 yards. The course has a small lake that makes Number 3 and Number 12 hole more challenging. The narrow fairways are lined with trees which makes an interesting course to play. The club House is furnished with tables, chairs, drink refrigerators, display cabinets, tv, computer, and cash register. There is a golf cart shed attached to the club house to store the golf cars.Other BuildingsThere is a two unit A-Frame located close to the club house. Each unit has 2 bedrooms, a living room / kitchen combined and a bathroom. It is presently rented to one of my employees that works on the course. The shop building is a 30 X 40 metal building used to store and repair all of the equipment used on the course.TimberThe timber on the property consists of both, hard and soft wood. Selective timbering was done in the fall of 2001 on some of the property. With the new power plant that is being built close by, the value of the chip wood in this area will increase steadily. This plant is anticipated to burn 800,000 tons of wood a year. The Water SupplyWe are blessed with a virtual unlimited supply of water. Like most of the towns in Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Kentucky our water comes from a well that is drilled into an abandon deep mine thus creating a large underground lake that is sealed up and is constantly replenished by water filtering through the rock formation. Once the water is pumped to the surface it is chlorinated and passes through a water softener. The water that is used for irrigation comes from the same well however chlorine is not added to water. The well produces 25 gallons per minute. There are two 10,000 gallon storage tanks on the irrigation side of the system with pumps to aid in the watering of the greens.Machinery, Golf Carts, Etc.All grounds keeping equipment, golf cars, tractors, inventory, furniture and supplies will remain onsite.Asking Price The asking price for the land, timber, buildings, equipment, golf course, lodge, a-frame, and inventory is ($1,50
