Enjoy beautiful water views from every sunlit room in our comfortable home. Relax on the screened-in porch, in the hammock outside or in front of the large fireplace. Eat on the large elevated deck, then enjoy s'mores at the firepit down by the water. In warm weather months, head down to the sizeable dock for some sunshine or a swim in the clear, shallow water. A rowboat and canoe are also available for a spin around the lake. If you are a cyclist take advantage of the great scenic, hilly road and gravel rides nearby. During winter months, dust off your skates, snowshoes or nordic skis and get your blood pumping. The lake becomes a frozen playground! Shawnee Peak (Pleasant Mountain) is just 25 minutes away, and Sunday River is 50 minutes. Portland, Freeport and North Conway are about an hour away. We designed the house to maintain a cabin feel with the comforts of a year-round home, including a new gas stove and high-speed internet. The great room features a vaulted pine ceiling with skylights, a new ceiling fan, and fresh paint. The hallways are freshly painted as well, and the hardwood floors upstairs are newly refinished. The bedroom upstairs has a new remote ceiling fan, and additional fans are provided for each bedroom. The two new Rinnai heaters do a fantastic job of efficiently heating the house during winter. Whether you come for a brief respite from the rat race, or for an extended stay, you will feel at home, and the peace and natural beauty of our waterfront will undoubtedly restore you. Please inquire about short-term and seasonal rental rates. We will consider a 9 month lease from Oct. through June. Dock installation, snow removal, internet/phone, electricity, heat and trash are not included in rent beyond 1 month. This is a smoke-free home and we can not allow cats due to allergies. One well-trained dog that is not on the Dangerous Dog Breed list would be welcome. References and rental insurance are required.
