Shorter logs will have at least 2 spikes, one at each end.The inside of the house was power washed and then rough limb ends were power sanded. The final touches were to hand-sand and hand-stain all the inside log walls with Golden Oak stain. This step alone took 3 1/2 months, then everything was covered in polyurethane. The stones on the inside fireplace and the outside chimney are all from the property when the large pond was dug. The sellers planted 2,000 pine trees on the property, 900 were planted shortly after buying the property in 1986. Wildlife can be seen a lot on a regular basis. This includes deer, coyotes, fox, raccoons, opossum, turkeys, owls, geese, herons, hawks, ducks and many songbirds. The sellers planted field corn or soybeans just for the wildlife to eat.
