Tenants who intend to remain in Pittsburgh and in this unit past July 31, 2023 have the option to sign a new lease in their own name starting August 2023. Tenants in this building are mainly graduate students and young working professionals. Location: This apartment is in a 3-story building on the 5600 Block of Hobart Street. The location is fantastic. It is about a 6-minute walk to the main Murray Avenue street (and 5 more minutes to Forbes Ave) with several supermarkets (Giant Eagle, Murray Ave Kosher, Panda asian supermarket), abundant restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and retail stores. It is also a stone's throw away from the popular Pigeon bagel cafe. On Murray Avenue is also where the 61C and 61D bus lines run. It is about an 8-minute walk to Forbes Ave/Wightman St where all four 61A, 61B, 61C and 61D bus lines run. All four 61 bus lines take you directly to Oakland (where CMU and Pitt are located) and all the way to Downtown Pittsburgh. In the other direction, 61C and 61D take you to a large strip mall called The Waterfront Mall. On Murray Avenue, you can also catch the 64 bus line to Shadyside and to The Waterfront Mall. If you work in Downtown Pittsburgh, there is a commuter bus, the 65 bus line, a 2-minute walk from the apartment that gets you to Downtown in 15 minutes. This location is between two large green spaces/parks - Schenley Park and Frick Park. Unit-specific description: This is a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom apartment. It is on the 3rd floor and is south-facing, allowing a lot of sun into the unit. The big windows let in a lot of natural light throughout the day. This unit faces the back of the building (and not the road) and is therefore quiet. There is a spacious living area, an entryway closet, a larger storage room and a smaller storage closet, a bedroom with a closet, a bathroom with a tub, and a kitchen with generous cabinets/storage space and white appliances included (oven, stove, refrigerator and freezer). There is a fixed heater/air conditioning unit in the living room. There is shared laundry (washer and dryer) in the basement using a prepaid card. We are moving and will leave the apartment empty. However, the unit can be left minimally furnished/equipped if the tenant prefers that - we can discuss this. Electricity service will be registered in the tenant's name. The tenant may wish to get internet in the tenant's name. Landlord's Requirements: Do NOT apply via Zillow Applications. Subtenants have to complete an application form for the Landlord, pay a $35 application fee and be approved by the Landlord. Interested tenants must provide proof of income 3.5x the monthly rent and a credit score above 650. The Landlord accepts 1 month of paystubs, 3 month's bank statements, or an F-1/I-20. Rent: $1,122/month plus utilities. Approximate utilities: Electric - approximately $50/month.
