Lancaster Ironworks Residences are located in the historic Posey Iron Works former administrative office just six blocks south of the square on Lancaster's famous "gallery row," Prince Street. The building dates to 1910 and was constructed by the famous Lancaster architect, Henry Y. Shaub. In 2014, a careful and creative renovation process was completed to adapt Posey's turn of the century industrial charm into modern, luxury loft-style apartments. Lancaster Ironworks is a 2014 recipient of an Historic Preservation Trust of Lancaster C. Emlen UImer adaptive reuse award. The common areas retain much of Posey's original architecture and features, including the grand wood staircase, while the apartments have been equipped with brand new finishes, stainless steel appliances, granite counter-tops, and energy efficient HVAC systems and windows.
