Two story Italianate-period, in town home built in 1871. Most of the rooms still have period trim and solid-wood doors. The living room , dining room, and library have 9-foot ceilings. Most of the house has original tongue-and-groove pine floors; the kitchen and sunroom have cork flooring; the bathrooms have stone and porcelain tile floors. The walk-up attic includes a space currently used as an art studio. Though most of the heat comes from a wood-pellet stove and antique cast-iron radiators (fed by the oil boiler in the basement), the passive-solar sunroom addition on the south side of the house helps heat the home on sunny days. Neighborhood Description The house is only a few blocks from downtown New Milford where there are public parks, a town green, several restaurants, a coffee shop, a movie theater, a public library, a village arts center, and many other businesses. There are several 19th century brick industrial buildings that have been converted into condo apartments.
