A memory of home & travels, like Portugal that contributed hand-crafted tiles. This is your winter-cozy, summer-cool, home from where you venture to trails, forest, rivers or ponds to fish. Or be challenged by snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, birding. At home, stoke the fire, cook in the well-equipped kitchen then tune out! Visit museums, restaurants and antique stores in Afton and Bainbridge or go further to Greene or Coventry - all small, quaint towns dating back to the 1700s. Maybe participate in the canoe regatta, highly regarded annual blues festival, or the outdoor projection festival in Binghamton that shows off building-size creations, drawing thousands of visitors. Willing to drive? The Baseball Hall of Fame, Ithaca, Oneonta and the Corning Glass Museum (blow your own!) are all about an hour away. Or just cook on the BBQ, eat outside late and watch the stars come out in all their glory.
