    The Grand Rapids Alliance of Cooperative Communities (GRACC) is looking for new members to fill rooms in their Heritage Hill home, called the James Russell House! We offer suite-style cooperative living within a caring intentional community.Three rooms are currently available. Rent is anywhere between $280-580 per room, depending on size and the suite amenities. Utilities is $25/person and food is $90/person, which includes five wholesome, fresh dinners 5 nights per week. Upon moving in, you would pay a security deposit valued at one month's rent and sign a 12 month lease.Location: The James Russell House is located at 535 Fulton St. East in beautiful Heritage Hill, near downtown Grand Rapids, Easttown, and GRCC. It is an old apartment building, newly renovated to support a cooperative community living environment. Amenities include: off-street parking, spacious living areas, storage space, natural light, washer and dryer in unit, balcony, huge yard with developing garden, Wifi included with utilitiesHow it works:The house is comprised of 8 suites, 24 bedrooms, 8 kitchens and living rooms, and 12 bathrooms.Each suite has 1 kitchen, 1 to 2 bathrooms, 1 to 4 bedrooms, and a shared common living room. Typically one tenant/family per bedroom.First floor living room, dining room and kitchen is open to everyone, where we regularly gather for house meetings, dinners, and social events.Participation in house meetings and at least 16 hours per month of hands-on contributions are requested from every member each month. We encourage you to plug in where you thrive, whether it be in grocery shopping, cooking, gardening, maintenance, cleaning, or setting up for yoga and house shows. Community living means community giving!Why live in a Co-op?We strive to create a shared vision based on building a sustainable, cooperative future in the greater Grand Rapids area and we do our best to make this a fun, collaborative effort. Keep in mind that living in a cooperative community is different from renting an apartment. Think of the time you spend cooking, cleaning, and shopping for yourself. Our collective work effort saves everyone time, energy, and money. A co-op can make those things possible.
