Hello, out there! Looking for a new home? We have exactly what you're looking for.
Our 1260 square foot, two bedroom and one bath ground level house was built in 2001 on a tree-filled lot overlooking pasture to the west (which is great for sunsets). Practically maintenance free, our abode is incredibly efficient during even the most extreme heat waves and wintery blizzards (like the one we just went through) thanks to copious amounts of insulation and adept central heating/air conditioning, leaving us with a very small monthly utility bill (we aren't complaining!).
Inside, the kitchen opens up into the living and dining area, making it very cosy and family-friendly. At the moment, we're set up as living-office-dining-sewing area due to the new arrival taking up the spare bedroom.
The first bedroom (or nursery/office/quiet space, what have you) has a large walk-in closet to fill up with baby clothes, books, or spare accordions. There is also a window in there which is great for keeping potted plants out of reach from the cats.
The master bedroom has two large windows facing the west (again, marvelous for those Kansas sunsets), a double-doored closet (really two closets connected together), and room for that extra large bookcase for the bibliophiles out there. The master bedroom connects directly to the bathroom, which is spacious, and contains all the amenities-toilet, shower/tub, and sink.
Exiting the bathroom through the second door, you're back out in the hallway. Connected to this hallway, adjacent from the master bedroom, is the utility room. Here we're able to fit in a washer and dryer, a stand up freezer, and the incredibly large water heater (also the cats when naughty).
Outside, we have a patio connecting to the 30' x 26' two-car garage/shop. The patio is amazing for swinging and viewing the cows in the pasture, and the shop is well-equipped for vehicle maintenance and storage, wood working, or chicken raising (it's heated AND air conditioned!).
I should also mention we're in walking distance from Riverside Park and down-town Kingman.
All-in-all, we love our home, but with a growing family and a change in jobs, we need to move on. It really has been a nice and neat place to live and raise youngsters and chickens.
