This is one of the oldest houses in Woodbridge, a historic 19th Century American Foursquare. We own this one and its twin next door. These two houses are mirror images of each other built at the same time. Both of them turn 124 years old this year.
My wife and I recently renovated this 2,000-square-foot house, filling it with modern conveniences while preserving historic details. For instance, we refurbished the hardwood floors and doors. We preserved the fire place and original radiators, sand blasting and painting them to their original condition. We upgraded and modernized the appliances, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, while also tuck pointing the original masonry and adding foam insulation in the walls and ceilings. We have done everything we can to make sure you have the opportunity to pay as little to DTE as possible.
We also did some fun upgrades. For instance, we built a penny floor in one of the bathrooms and built the sink with reclaimed lumber from a nearby home that was razed. We also added raised garden beds in the backyard. There is also a large, fenced-in backyard that is dog friendly and a two-car garage that is EV compatible.
This house comes with four bedrooms and two full baths on a quiet, tree-lined street a block away from the Woodbridge Pub, Pie-Sci, and the Wayne State athletic fields. It will be ready for occupancy in September. It's within easy walking distance of Wayne State and Midtown. It's a quick bike ride to the rest of downtown Detroit, New Center and the Riverfront. The basement is large and has a side door convenient for bike storage. There is a two-car garage behind the building and plenty of parking on the street.
