Charles Montooth, Taliesin Architects, designed the concept for this home and completed the lower level in 1998. The design is a blend of traditional Prairie Style (hip and cantilevered roofs) and later modernist curved architecture. One of Frank Llloyd Wright’s original fellowship students, Charles created a modular home that was constructed in stages. The upper level was completed in 2015. Charles produced the construction drawings for the Lower Level (1160 SQ FT living area) and the concept drawings for the Upper Level. Bill Bickford, Northworks Architects, Chicago, IL created the construction drawings for the Upper Level and Lower Level east & west wings. Tim Marr, Traditional Carpentry, Inc., Mineral Point, WI built and completed the Lower Level in 1998. Tim was also the contractor for the current Upper Level. Features worth mentioning include - radiant heat throughout both levels - stacked stone fireplaces capable of heating the entire home - steel infrastructure to support a cantilevered deck (east wing) and cantilevered roofs (east and west wings) - green garage roof - roof solar panels
