Mini fridge, microwave, coffee in the room, plus space for other small appliances Shared bathroom (possibility of adding a private bath and separate entrance on your room in the future) Shared access to: kitchen, living/rec room, laundry, entry, and outdoor space Perks & Amenities: Fast Wi-Fi for work or gaming Central A/C and heat, plus solar heaters to supplement the traditional furnace Your own driveway Access to vegetable gardens and tools Laundry on-site (washer/dryer use included) Chill outdoor space with a hammock, grill, and more About Us: We're a family of three adults plus one male tenant who lives upstairs with my sons. We're kind, geeky, and focused on work and projects (which can take longer due to my disability). We play D&D and some online games and run a few businesses. Some of us work outside the home as well, but someone is home almost 24/7. We keep quiet hours (11 PM 7 AM) and are generally quiet 24/7 ideal for shift workers. We've hosted many Airbnb guests who were night-shift workers and know how to accommodate different schedules. We're neurodivergent and a bit quirky expect a chill and understanding household. Security cameras cover the driveways and street for safety. Pets & Household Rules: No cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, or other small animals our American Dingo sees them as snacks. Dogs allowed (case by case, as long as they get along with ours). No smoke of any kind, ever even on your clothes. Alcohol and THC edibles/vapes okay. Asthmatics & allergic to tobacco smoke. We will press charges if smoking rules are violated. Cleanliness expectations: You're responsible for your own room and laundry. We'll handle the rest, but you're welcome to help. Kitchen is available if you clean up immediately so we can cook meals. You're welcome to eat what we cook or buy/prepare your own food. Special Considerations: We're Eastern Orthodox Christians we do morning prayers daily and occasionally burn high-quality incense during worship. If incense bothers you, we will stop using it while you live here. Location & Accessibility: Steps lead up to the house (front and deck), but we are considering adding a ramp due to my mobility issues. We can provide some home-health assistance if needed. Located near several state parks, skydiving, and more. 10 minutes from Peru, IL, which has a hospital, Walmart, Target, Home Depot, movie theater, and too many restaurants to list. What We're Looking for in a Roommate: Quiet Uses headphones/earbuds to keep audio to themselves Pays rent on time; student, retired, or employed are all OK (remote workers & online business owners welcome!) Respects shared spaces & keeps their room tidy Not a risk to our home or safety Background check required, but a prior eviction or conviction might not disqualify you. Just be honest. No sexual predators or domestic abusers allowed. This is a ROOM in a house. I am flexible on lease duration (month-to-month, 6-month, etc.). No smokers allowed due to severe asthma and allergies. Alcohol, edibles, vapes are all OK. All utilities are included. No additional fees. Renter must pay for own cell phone and renters insurance and keep room clean. We'll handle the shared spaces.
