There are three tenants. Two tenants are already in place. The first "tenant" is the owner, and his fine home building company uses the downstairs front parlor as an office from 7:30a-5:30p on weekdays. Neither he nor any employee overnights at the property. The second tenant is a young professional who has moved to Charlottesville to further her career. We are seeking a third tenant and there's a strong preference for another younger professional female. Here's how the space works: Everyone shares the downstairs of the house as common space (living room, dining room, kitchen, outdoor spaces, 1/2 bath). The owner/company use the downstairs common spaces lightly and, again, only during the workday. The private space is upstairs. This is a traditional 1910s foursquare house, so the home's four bedrooms and two full bathrooms are upstairs. The private space that is available now ($850/month) consists of the largest bedroom and an en suite full bathroom with a big shower (no bathtub). The other tenant has as her private space the three hall bedrooms and the hall bathroom. Each tenant has an individual lease, and to answer a frequently asked question, we are only seeking one tenant for the large bedroom + en suite bathroom, versus a couple. There is currently a king-sized bed in the bedroom that you'd be welcome to use (or not). Great location and a beautiful property. Ever-blooming yard. Super nice neighbors. The kitchen is really well set up--All Clad, great knives, etc. It's an easy walk to the downtown mall or commute to UVA, Darden, Law and both medical centers (UVA and MJH). Please tell us about yourself in your reply. We prefer no pets. We are seeking a 12-month lease and could do up to an 18-month lease. Minimally due at lease signing is security deposit ($850) and last month's rent ($850). Each tenant pays 1/3 of the utilities (gas-water-sewer and electric and trash sticker) and 1/3 of the housekeeper (biweekly cleaning). The owner supplies the Ting internet and yard care. Per the costs in 2024, you might expect to pay $170-230/month for utilities and housekeeping. The street has permitted parking, so you don't have to compete for a space, and there's one off-street parking space.
