The highlight of the apartment is the top floor (2nd floor of the apartment/3rd floor of the house) that is a wide-open versatile room that could be used for a master bedroom or a really cool expansive living room. On this floor you will notice the wide plank pine floors, all the built-in shelves and unique 'cubby' spaces that again offer different uses (like a spot for an office). There is a walk-in closet if this room is used as master bedroom. This floor gets drenched with natural light as there are a couple of dormers and full size windows on all four sides. Anyone that sees this space immediately likes how it was finished and feels. The first floor (2nd floor of the house) has one/two more bedrooms that are both adequate size. There is a flexible layout where one of the bedrooms could be used as a living room instead of a bedroom. However, there is an adjacent room with French doors that could make a cozy den if you elected to make this a three bedroom. All three of the bedrooms have closets. There is charm throughout this 1930 house with wood panel ceilings and walls, period trim, and high ceilings. There are lot of oversized double hung newer theromopane windows that fill this 2nd floor with sunshine. Overall, it's a naturally bright apartment. There is a full fiberglass shower and bath that is easy upkeep. The highlight of the kitchen is the walkout back porch. Conveniently there is a back door off the kitchen that leads right to this 2nd story porch (and the back staircase to the driveway). It faces west and offers a peaceful spot to watch the sun set and enjoy some outdoor living/eating right off the kitchen. The kitchen comes with a dishwasher and has a lot of the same charm that the rest of the apartment exudes, with a tin backsplash and extra tall wall cabinets that make a nice food pantry. There are real red oak hardwood floors that run throughout the 2nd floor. There is no carpet in this apartment. 53 Lancaster is truly unlike any other apartment space you have seen. It's part of a smaller two-family house with a very quiet first floor tenant. It's the type of unique apartment that you will always remember living in. Please keep in mind there is a strict application process that focuses heavily on credit. Good credit is a must with a minimum 675 credit score for all adult occupants. One year minimum lease. There will be a credit, background, employment and income verification. Only one-month security deposit required with strong application. Pets considered on a case-by-case basis. Heating is affordable with natural gas. Washer and dryer provided in the lower level. Tenant would be responsible for gas and electric. Owner would be responsible for water, landscaping and snow removal. Two off street (tandem) parking spaces are included.
