One Confederate report dated January 19, 1865, notes that the Church Flats Battery was armed with two 12-pound smoothbore cannon and one 8-inch siege howitzer. a Confederate soldier, Conrad Wise Chapman, painted Church Flats Battery in 1863. The original painting is in the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, Virginia, a picture of the painting is included in the media on this listing.
