I purchased this lovely house 3 years ago as a project. The over-sized living room has a large fireplace, there is a sun-room, an above-ground swimming pool with walk-around deck (needs repair), dining room, and a laundry/furnace room. When I purchased the home I had a new furnace installed, new Roth oil tank, new water heaters, new pressure tank for the well water, purchased all new appliances (refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, above stove microwave, etc.) which will come with the home for the right price. This house has historic relevance to the locale. It was one of the original 6 homes built on it's road in Tannersville approximately 100 years ago. Of course, it's had renovations and extensions added, making it much larger and more modern than it's original size and shape, but none-the-less, the history is there. Back in the day, the main house was the middle, two-story section, and there was a "care-taker's cottage" which has become linked to the house as a whole. In fact, this home was once an estate of some 23 acres which, years back, was portioned off, making the development behind where this home sits today. Thankfully, the 2 acres it sits on now are nicely surrounded by woods so that in summer, the surrounding homes disappear and you feel like you're truly living the country life. Wild animals feel free to venture on the property. I have had several generations of the same family of deer growing up around me since I moved onto the property. The unique qualities of this home make it perfect for young couples who might want to go in with friends to make a time-share together for winter and summer vacationing, general outdoor activities, or even to create and profit from your very own Bed & Breakfast. Of course, it's also a great family house! Disclaimer - while I have made every effort to improve this home while in it, I bought the home as a disabled person, and the going has been tougher than I expected. This was my 3rd fixer-upper, and I didn't realize how badly my disabilities would affect my function this time around. So, this house is not perfect! Mostly cosmetic repairs are necessary. Some work will be required, but my price fits this circumstance. If you are handy, and have handy friends, this home could be perfect for you. It is very unique. No cookie-cutter home here! Right in the middle of ski country, a few miles from Mt. Airy Lodge (casino), a few miles from access to the Delaware River for water lovers, and water parks abound in this area - if you are active and love the outdoors, don't mind spending some time and energy creating your own unique home (or as previously stated, possibly a time-share or a Bed & Breakfast), this could be the place for you! With such a large lot - and roof space perfectly positioned - this home would be great for solar panel addition or even a personal wind-turbine. Since it already has well water, you could be off-grid in no time at all! So why am I selling? Unfortunately my elderly mother had a stroke 2 years ago and has been struggling with her personal needs ever since. She lives in southern New Jersey, and it seems the time has come for me to care for her. So my dream home must go. Mom needs me. I'm looking for someone to pick up where I'm leaving off with this home. I know it can be a true beauty and give happiness to those who live within. Note - square footage of home is questionable. When I bought this house there were different figures on my paperwork. As the home is so unique in layout, it's particularly difficult to get accurate figures. You must see it for yourselves. It is much larger than it seems. Property taxes currently run at $3,700, and $1,150 for school taxes. Zillow's figures are incorrect. Please be aware that I do not own a computer or a smart phone and hence, will not be able to check emails daily. I use my town's library computers, and will check for feedback on a regular basis.
