    What's special

To be cliche, this house is a must see, and to entice you, I am going to write a great description. Since we've lived here we have made many energy saving improvements: blown in 12" of insulation, replaced windows and sliding door on the first floor (other windows are not very old), and bit the bullet and put expensive LED lighting in the newly remodeled kitchen. They tell me you'll never have to change a bulb. Since the house doesn't have central air, we installed a whole house fan when the insulation was blown in. It works great! And this coming from someone who normally sits in her study with a window unit a/c on the whole summer. House sits on about 1/2 acre of land in a country-like setting. But 3 miles takes you to Route 5 to 695 to 690, then anywhere you want to go. Walmart, Lowes, and a few other stores are just 2 miles away. Very convenient location, location, location. It is in the Marcellus school district and the Town of Onondaga. SECOND FLOOR: 4 bedrooms of various sizes, good closet space, and linen closet. We gutted the old bathroom and installed a deep whirlpool tub and a new vanity. Pics are posted. FIRST FLOOR: Living room with a fireplace that works (we used it on Christmas maybe twice). A medium size dining room, 1/2 bath that we also gutted and modernized. The best part is the brand new kitchen that was finished a couple months ago. Didn't know we'd be moving so soon; was hoping to enjoy it for a while. Gutted, knocked a wall down for open concept, a breakfast bar, new floor, cabinets with soft close and a spice rack and trash can incorporated in the base cabinets. Stainless steel appliances that are about 7 years old. There was a screened porch off the living room that e had to cover with plastic every winter. We converted it to a 3 season room. When you open the French doors, it extends the living room about 8ft. Lots of room for entertaining. Pic posted. BASEMENT: To the left at the bottom of the stairs is a spare room for guests, games, or exercise. On the other side is the man cave. Perfect spot on the wall for a huge tv. Behind the man cave is the laundry area and workshop. Lots of room back there. The specs of the house itself do not include the attached apartment. It was added about 12 years ago and when they did it, they dug out another full basement. There is a door between the 2 basement areas. The apartment is about 500sf. Has one of each: living room, bedroom, bathroom, full kitchen. We bought the house because we cared for my dad who had Alzheimers. We put a new floor and carpet in about 4 years ago. It has a separate entrance and it's own parking. There is plumbing under the apartment to add a washer/dryer. It is on it's own gas meter. We never separated the electricity and water. The prior owners charged $500 for rent. That’s extra money to put towards the mortgage. If you don't want to be landlords, it's a great in-law or elderly parent apartment. You could also use it if you have a college student and you both need your privacy. Or you could break through the wall and make a great master suite. We built shelving for storage. The realtors that came to work out a price with us said that the apartment would add $25K to the value of the house. Zillow's estimate of this property doesn't include the value of the apartment, energy saving projects completed, or the newly remodeled kitchen. Hope you’ll come take a look. That’s free!
