The Town is located to the west of Lowell and north of Concord almost to the New Hampshire border. Other neighboring towns include Concord, Carlisle, Acton, Littleton, Groton, Chelmsford, Boxborough, and Billerica. Westford has a beautiful, state of the art library, a very active community center with offerings for all ages, an active recreation department, an excellent school system, the Nashoba Valley Ski Area, and two town beaches on spring-fed ponds. Originally Westford, was noted for its farms and woolen mills, but today is mostly a bedroom community with an emphasis on high tech. The town is near an extensive transportation network with exceptionally good highway and rail facilities linking Westford to major east coast cities and towns, as well as to the local major seaport, international airports and the many landmarks of the greater Boston area. There are several trails running through forests and fields, some along waterways, that are used in a variety of passive recreational activities, such as hiking, jogging, bird watching, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. Every year the town celebrates its Apple Blossom Festival in May and its Strawberry Festival in June, in addition to several other special events and holiday-themed festivities scattered throughout the year. Overall, Westford is a family-oriented community with a New England feel, lush green park lands, finely landscaped public spaces, and regional shopping and entertainment centers filled with a variety of restaurants, specialty shops and retail stores. The school system is one of the top ranked school systems in Massachusetts. Owner pays for water. All other utilities not included.
