The cliffs on the backside of the island are spectacular, and are among the highest ocean cliffs in the country. And there's a little brewery that is a perfect, sociable pitstop after hiking. The island is very quiet in the fall, winter and spring. It is much loved by birders, artists and those who enjoy Maine in all seasons.
