A very quite neighborhood with a mix of retired adults and young families that are building many new homes and why we chose here. The churches are very active and there schools are top notch. There are plenty of parks, easy access to Metra, the Children's Museum and Oak Lawn always has some type of seasonal event going on that is fun to attend. It does lack a downtown area and the restaurant/entertainment options are limited but we are close to the city. The major downside is the taxes are brutal...Naperville like...but without the amenities of the Western suburbs. We feel Oak Lawn is only going to improve and will be a good place to raise our family.
