Colorful, funky and fun basement apartment unit available now - less than a block off Alberta. This beautiful 932 sq ft unit has two bedrooms, one big bathroom, washer and dryer in unit, and full backyard access (including to the garden beds!) Within this home and neighborhood, we are cultivating a community that takes care of each other. Even though the basement unit is a separate apartment from the upstairs home, I am searching for that kind of a vibe. How can we help each other out in big or small ways? What can we share and nurture together? The yard is set to become a food oasis: we have mint, oregano, rosemary, thyme, citronella, and elderberry established We have strawberries, blueberries, a fig tree and a chestnut tree. We also have a few garden beds and room to build more. First priority will go to applicants who are passionate about organic gardening and would love to help plan and cultivate a shared garden on the property. We also like to grow cannabis in the yard over the summertime. We can chat more about this if you fit the bill :-). Although this is a basement unit, note that there are fairly large windows in both of the bedrooms as well as the bathroom that let in a moderate amount of light even though they are not shown well in the photos. The kitchen/main area has windows as well, although they are smaller than the ones in the other rooms. $1200/mo rent + $150 utilities (includes all utilities - power, water, trash, internet.) $1200 security deposit. 6 mo. lease to start. $50 application fee with background and credit check included. Ultimately I, the landlord will have the final say on the accepted applicant(s), but I do like to run these checks as a precaution. Pets considered on a case-by-case basis. One Pomeranian lives in the home upstairs and is often in the yard. Sometimes he is a bit barky, but it is not constant by any means.
