Handsome circa 1840 Federal style house with an 18th century style, architect designed clapboard addition created to resemble a New England "keeping room" featuring an authentic 18th century room end with brick fireplace, wide board floors, period doors and hardware. The 6 room main house was originally clapboard, but was brick veneered about 1945, and is highlighted by a formal center hall with the dining and living room on either side. The living room features bold crown molding and an 18th century Federal mantel.
