Located 3/10 mile from Waipio Valley lookout, this ocean view pole house sits above a year long stream. In 10 short minutes you can be on the beach at Waipio Valley. This custom 4 pole house is made with lovely ohia poles with large supporting beams, allowing for most of the walls to be floor to ceiling glass. With the ocean view, the stream and lush tropical foliage, you are always enjoying nature in this house. There are 7 sliding glass doors which can be left open to allow in the lovely breeze. It is pretty close to being a tree house, yet it is a real house with all the comforts. The main part of the house is up one flight of stairs. It is square and there is a 10’ x 10’ lanai on each corner, each with a different view. From the front of the house you see the ocean and from the side and back you see the stream and waterfall. The kitchen was remodeled in 2016 with custom mango cabinets, all new appliances, granite countertops and special lighting. The bathroom is unique because from the shower you look down into the stream and waterfall. The main bedroom is a loft with an opening skylight. From the bed you can see the stars above you. At the first drop of rain the skylight closes automatically. There is another space that could be used as a smaller bedroom on the main floor also. On the ground level below the main house is a completely separate studio apartment with it’s own bathroom and kitchenette. The spacious bathroom has a nice big tub. There is an outdoor shower on the very private lanai. The apartment has one lanai facing the creek and another one facing the tropical backyard. This apartment works nicely as a rental unit or it can be used as an additional bedroom. The property spans the stream and there is a 20 foot long bridge that goes over the stream. There is a 12’ x 12’ open pavilion right next to the stream. This space is great for hammocking, yoga, massage or just hanging out with nature. This side of the stream is extremely private and secluded. There are many places you can sit along the stream or you can sit in the stream and get a waterfall massage. The yard is lush, to say the least, with big banyan trees, coconut palms, avocado trees, lime trees and antheriums and lots of rock walls and terraces. The neighborhood is lovely and quiet and very walkable. We are only a 12 minute drive from the quaint historic town of Honokaa and 30 minutes from beautiful Waimea.
