The refrigerator, water pump, two freezers, lights, TV, stereo, ceiling fans, and electric appliances run on this system. In the summer, you could run an air conditioner but it’s already cool on the house even on extra hot days. The house is well insulated so that’s another reason it’s cool inside. Main heat is a wood stove with a back up 30,000 BTU propane Mr. Heater wall furnace. We also use propane for the cookstove, hot water tank and clothes dryer. There is no well, so we haul from a free community well one mile down the road. There are two 450 gallon tanks in a crawl space under the house that we fill with a 200 gallon tank in the pickup truck. There’s a 320 sq. ft covered back porch, an extra house and up the hill, a fenced garden with growing raspberry, blueberry and strawberry patches. The chicken coop was recently built with an attached tool shed and a large covered chicken run behind it. A nearby 9 x 12 foot pole shed houses a 1500 gallon tank for irrigation and firewood.
