This property is located on High Top Mountain next to Shenandoah National Park. It has one bedroom, one bath, a laundry room with washer and dryer, and an eat-in kitchen/living room area. There is an attached barn with a huge amount of storage space, as well as a concrete patio/firepit area. This is a nature lover, hiker's paradise. Gorgeous mountain views, isolated and peaceful. There are no nearby neighbors. Four wheel drive is required to reach the property. It is a 20 minute drive up the gravel state maintained road after the paved road ends. Often after large rain storms, the road will become rutted out to the point that a high clearance vehicle is needed. Also, during the winter, the road is often snow covered (even when we have none in Stanardsville) and the steepness requires a 4WD to pass. It is a 25 minute drive off the mountain and to the nearest town of Stanardsville, Va. Some cell carriers work, others do not. Satellite internet ONLY and there is no phone land line. Tenant pays all utilities (water and sewer included) and is responsible for mowing and weedeating the area surrounding the barn/apt. Owner typically bush hogs big field twice per year. The kitchen stove and heating source are propane. This is truly a stunning location and would make a wonderful retreat for those seeking peace and solace. Due to its remote location it is NOT for the faint at heart and those who mind lengthy travel. Would be ideal for someone not required to come off the mountain on a daily basis.. perhaps a retired couple, writer, weekender or part-timer. Minimum One Year Lease. Security Deposit of $675.00 due to hold the property. Additional $250.00 per pet non-refundable pet fee due at signing of the lease.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
