The Dogtrot Cabin also known as a "breezeway house" is a contemporary design that allows the natural world surrounding the structure to feel as if it is part of the living space by incorporating large glass panels, lots of windows and an open-air covered deck into the buildings design features. This creates an inspiring and wonderful platform to enjoy all of the natural beauty that this lush 35-acre property has to offer. The cabin sits at the end of a beautiful 3 plus ac meadow facing south with the balance of the rolling forested land comprised of mature sugar maples and other northern hardwood species with stands of mixed hemlock and white pine. The property offers woodland walking trails, a remote and private forest sauna, a year-round stream with deep pools and rocky gorges and old stone walls. The cabin is cozy and currently has one main bedroom off the kitchen/living area, another on the opposite side of the cabin, a library and possibly a third bedroom in what is now a separate studio building ideal for an artist, musician or perhaps just a quiet office space. The cabin has a small solar system, composting toilet and a drilled well with 25 gallons per minute. It is being used seasonally at present however, there is a state approved wastewater permit with a 3-bedroom septic system design if a primary use was needed. Out back you will find an outdoor shower, garden shed, fenced garden area, wildflower & butterfly garden and much more. This is a very peaceful place!
