COMING SOON! This is a huge 1500 SF unit with a master suite up top, 2 levels and 2 bonus rooms in a WONDERFUL neighborhood. These are old interior photos. The house is now mostly white and looks much better! Pictures to be updated soon after our tenant vacates in early September.
We are hosting a rental open house soon. The home is still currently rented for another week. I will update the ad with the day and time for a rental open house as soon as we schedule it. Masks and proper distance required for all who attend. TBD!
*Important to know that the '2nd' bonus room could be a bedroom or office BUT the room is not private. The stairs to the huge upstairs master suite are in this room. In the past it has been used as a second bedroom but best an office space. We are considering adding French doors to close off the living room area so that someone could use it as another bedroom if they wanted.
Details:
So, you need a place to live? Well it turns out we have a place that needs someone to live in it. Kind of cool a cool confluence when you think about it. But the question remains, is this somewhere you want to live? Well read on and find out.
About the place:
The space for rent is the upper two floor unit of a four level duplex. The house looks like a regular big house from the front but there are two separate rental units inside. You would be renting the upper unit in the top two levels of the duplex.
The rental: The main floor has full bathroom with a tub, office/ or non private bedroom w/ carpet, a separate dining room, kitchen, separate large living room, and large back deck. The top floor is a HUGE master suite with a bedroom, a walk in closet, sky lights, newer carpet, paint, and a full bathroom with a shower.
Unit has a washer and dryer, newer windows, high ceilings, laminate wood floors, carpet in bedrooms, ample storage, dishwasher, cable/wi fi ready, a big backyard to share with a deck/trees/garden, and a fireplace. You'll have access to the 1 car shared garage for storage. If you like gardening there's a big garden box that used to produce ridiculously good tomatoes when we lived there. We've painted several of the rooms white since these photos were taken!
Why to live here (or not, given that I don't know what you, my hypothetical tenant, likes)
If you like NE Portland, this place is at the center of the universe. The neighborhood is great, but not suburban boring. You're within easy walking distance of Alberta, Mississippi, and Williams/Vancouver corridor, you could throw a rock and hit a bus stop on MLK, there are bars restaurants and coffee shops within a 3 minute stroll, there's a farmers market a few blocks away in the summer, there is a New Seasons grocery store and Natural Grocers a few blocks away, downtown is a 5 minute drive in no traffic. Plenty of street parking. Walk score of 91, and a bike score of 96! Check it out for yourself on walkscore.com
Why not to live here (finally, the fine print)
If you collect animals like baseball cards this might not be the best fit, we'd like to avoid a herd of critters. If you absolutely must smoke inside you should look elsewhere. Outside smoking only. Also, with a place to garden comes some light yard maintenance (read as help mow and weed the back and front yard a few times a year, March- July). I think that about covers the downsides.
Feel free to garden and make the backyard as you'd like it. There is a garden box in the back, a large private deck, and a side garden. Just check with us and the downstairs tenants before doing anything major. You'd share the garage with the downstairs tenants, who are great people.
