We have been told this is the original Talley House Farmhouse for the family the road was named after-- Talley Road. It has the old high, 10ft ceilings, and has been converted to an open floor plan with exposed beams in the Great Room. Many of the walls are original tongue-in-grooved hardwood. It has a historic character, and a is well built-- like all the old houses with cut-nails and hardwood. The home has been recently and completely remodeled. Electric and Plumbing were redone in 2012. Blown insulation was also added at that time in both the walls and ceilings. The house has been set up for, and has forced-air heating and cooling, as well as backup propane wall-mounted heaters. However, we have been using the high-ceilings and an attic fan to cool the home, and using a wood stove to heat it for the last several years ($130 a month average utilities year round). The original standing seam metal roof is in good shape. It was cleaned, treated for rust, rubberized, and colored six years ago. The well is GREAT. It is directly drinkable, and even fills the pool out back each year with no issues. The well pressure tank, gauges, pressure switch, and other hardware were all replaced last year and work wonderfully. This is a well built house-- all on one level-- where outside of routine maintenance, everything has been updated and upgraded; but it has been done in such a way that it still has that historic nature.
