He served as 4-H leader, school board member, member of various local and state organizations, and served 12 years in the Missouri Senate. The ranch is located six miles south of Joplin, less than a mile from the Eagle Creek Golf Club at Downstream Casino Resort, (previously Loma Linda Country Club).
