Blue Ridge Estates was built over a number of years, from the early 1960's to the Mid 80's affording a complex group of styles and designs of homes. It was the first subdivision in Bloomington that required that no blocks or foundation be visible from the street, that a tree plot and sidewalk was required in front of each home. No on street parking was allowed and street lights were installed. Because of the restrictive nature of the neighborhood (these restrictions were radical in the0's), the neighborhood took on an elegance that others lacked. The wide variety of Now Mature trees as chosen by each owner provides a plethora of colors in the fall and shaded areas all through the summer. A great place to walk the dog and mix with neighbors. Centrally located to shopping, downtown and major routes North.
