This Appalachian style house/cabin overlooks a jaw-dropping vista looking toward North Carolina and the Appalachian Trail. The property itself has at least five other building sites with equally impressive views. Everyone who comes here wants to live here. It's just that sort of place. Neighborhood Description The neighborhood is a traditional Appalachian community. People are very close and helpful. There are often benefits and fundraisers at the local community center to help out those less fortunate. People have "cake walks" and auctions. The place is a hunter's and fisherman's paradise and there are many active hunt clubs for bear and deer. In the summer, this is the primary spot for Whitewater rafting in the Smokies. It is dotted with many little churches and faith is very important. Essentially, living here is like stepping back in time to a much simpler period. The community and area are the same ones written about by Catherine Marshall in "Christy" which was later made into a popular TV series. The Christy Mission is just down the road from my house.
