If the walls could talk you could sit mesmerized by the stone fireplace hearing about the Union soldiers who supposedly occupied the house, or hear about when it was the company store for the Irondale Furnace; but the walls remain silent of all they have witnessed.In 1870 a 4 room addition was added (2 bedrooms, kitcheneating area, bathroom) with golden pine floors. Over a hundred years later, a vaulted ceiling master suite, & another bedroom were added. One of the 1870 bedrooms became a gourmet kitchen(granite counters,subzero refrigerator,stainless steel Dakor gaselectric stove, & warming drawer),but the original coal burning fireplace & little pantry door still remain.The architect did a masterful job,blending the rich past with the convenient present.A vaulted screen porch & wet bar added 2009.All this+a charming guest house!
