    What's special

The original plan name for the house was, "Florida Bungalow." Construction on the home began in 1935. A small tornado came through the area that fall and blew away all the lumber but the framework of the house was undamaged. The home has been in the same family since it was built. It is a craftsman style stucco bungalow with open soffits and one of only 2 or 3 stucco bungalows left in the area. The home is built around a central heat hall with the original floor plan. No modifications to the original structural floor plan have been made. Enclosure of a screened back porch and kitchen remodel was done after WWII. Another remodel was done in 1975 upgrading the wiring, kitchen remodel and the original wooden plank front porch floor was replaced with concrete. Original outbuildings still exist. The detached garage was an original 1 bay stucco structure enlarged to a 2 bay sometime in the 1940's. I know nothing about the 1956 structural remodel that is given. I don't think that is accurate. All of the property along Carroll Street used to be flat and the road dead ended at the end of my property. In 1964, the city continued the road (Clement Drive) down to highway 130 and cut all the land down about 10 feet to grade the road so most of the homes sit up on a hill now. The original metal shingled roof was still intact on all structures on the property until the tornado of 2011 which brought grapefruit sized hail and severely damaged all roofing. A commercial grade metal roof was installed on all structures at that time. The back yard is fenced in with a 30 foot above ground pool.
