This is a very large 3 story + basement home on a corner lot at Fourth and Sweetwater in Alliance with a large partially fenced back yard. The entire home was professionally sided and painted recently and it also has a newer roof. The home had been separated years ago into two apartments. One on the ground floor with access to the basement, and the other on the second floor with access to the unfinished 3rd floor. This has recently been modified, removing the barrier between the two floors and it is now a (very large) single family home again of approximately 3000 square feet. There are a lot of neat little quirks about the house. The stairs to the third floor are narrow (kid size) and hidden in the linen closet; It would be pretty easy to take out the closet and expand the stairs to full size. The living room has a brick fireplace hidden behind one wall (just a stud wall with sheetrock). I haven't ever checked out the chimney but with a little work you could have a nice fire crackling in the fireplace on winter nights. The exterior of the house features a covered front porch, a side porch and sidewalk, and a rear door off the kitchen. There's plenty of room to add a garage in the back but you'd have to check with city on how far it would need to be set back from the alley way. There's a large evergreen tree in the back as well as some huge lilacs. The yard is equipped with sprinklers, however I think the main control (which is in the basement) may have quit working. This house is a block from the Grocery Kart, two blocks from Safeway and a couple of blocks from downtown. You can walk to Hardware Hanks and get a cold rootbeer on hot summer days (A little plug for my friend Greg Carter), or walk out the front door and turn left, and in five blocks you'll be in the beautiful central park.
