    This home is nestled in one of the most beautiful streets in America, South Brooksville Avenue. A two minute walk to a lovely small town known as Brooksville, Florida, it is a urrounded by homes of various years (from the late 1800s to the 1960s) and various architectures (bungalow, Victorian, colonial, French Quarter), this home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The street is made of Augusta block brick as well as a canopy of 100 year old oak trees. The home itself was built around 1890 as a one story home with tall ceilings and a halfway, wrapped around porch. With a major remodel completed around 1925, the home became a two story with a ‘new’ Craftsman Bungalow appearance with the right side of the porch walled in. There are three fireplaces in the home, located in the dining room, the parlor room and the basement. That’s right, a basement. The kitchen, located in the back of the home, is spacious with a walk-in butler pantry. There is a library off of the dining room that can also be considered a bedroom. The other two bedrooms are located upstairs. The master bedroom has its own bathroom and private office as well. The aforementioned closed in side of the porch has become a mud room and a laundry room respectively. The homes downstairs boasts most of it’s original heart pine hardwood floors, while the upstairs were damaged from previous owners beyond repair. Reclaimed heart pine will be replacing the current laminate floors upstairs. The electric has all be updated from knob and tube to modern electric current. The plumbing has also been replaced with modern PVC from the old cast iron pipes. The current owner is taking great care to ensure that the architecture reflects that of the historic style. Also, on the property is an original Ford garage that was built there in the early 1920s. The home had a complete structural foundation replacement, as well as a new metal roof put on it as of early 2021.
