    What's special

Welcome to the Old Fairchild Headquarters Ranch, an amazingly private 34 acres of pristine rolling hills on the lovely Central Coast, just south of Harmony, Ca. (population, 18) The original Victorian 2-story house was built in 1880, and carefully preserved in its original glory. There are six other farm buildings and a corral. The Jewel of the property is a 140-Year-old Ficus Fig Tree that stands next to the main house like a gentle sheltering giant. This property is dappled with stands of Eucalyptus, Monterey Cypress, and Pepper corn trees. You can hike up the gently sloped hill behind the property to a stunning view of Morro Rock. This property is centrally located between Cambria to the north and Cayucos to the south. (6 miles either direction) Available to rent monthly, the two cottages are both unique and soulful, and sit far enough from the main house to give you plenty of privacy. There is parking next to each cottage. A numeric lock box holds the access key for each cottage. The property has a locked security gate, and a remote will be provided for each guest's stay. ~The Caretaker's house~ Built in 1942, it has been lovingly updated keeping both comfort and function in mind. The living room / bedroom has a Queen size bed, a comfy oversized chair, a dresser, and a table with two chairs. The kitchen has a 'retro' red fridge, a gas stove with oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, plates, glassware, and silverware. There is plenty of cabinet space. The bath has a beautiful newer shower. The flooring throughout is wood plank, waterproof laminate. There is a sweet, private covered front porch with a cafe table and chairs, shaded by a lovely pepper corn tree. Brand new washer & dryer in enclosure on back of house, for both Cottages to share. This cottage is 280 sf. Amenities~ Two sets of bedsheets, comforter, extra pillows, a space heater, iron and board, a closet with hangers and a laundry basket. In the bath there are a medicine cabinet, hair dryer and 4 sets of towels. Wireless internet inside and outside of the house provided by SpaceX Starlink. ~ The Milk House~ Built in 1920, This one room cottage has a Queen size bed, a table and 2 chairs, a clothes closet, and a galley kitchen with sink. The bathroom has a lovely, tiled shower. Outside is a private sunny little patio / seating area. A charming picnic table sits sheltered on an original converted cow scale. Outdoor dining at its best! ~Amenities~ Two sets of sheets, pillows, comforter and extra blankets, Iron and board, and laundry basket. Electric space heater, Hotplate, microwave, Frigidare, coffee maker, electric water kettle, plates, silverware, glasses, pots, and pans, and 4 sets of towels. * Wireless internet outside of the cottage only because the siding is metal. Designed to enjoy as you please, perhaps a glass of wine at the end of the day, enjoy stargazing the night sky with a hot cup of tea. The magical energy can be felt wherever you may wander on this property. This iconic landmark property is situated on Scenic Pacific Coast Highway, (otherwise known as Cabrillo Hwy) a few miles north of Harmony Headlands State Park. Situated 6 miles south of Cambria, 6 miles north of Cayucos, and 12 miles south of the William Randolph Hearst Castle, and State beach.
