WELLINGTON: Contact: yrosefarm@gmail.com Have you been considering a career change or starting a second career? Do you want control of your days and time, and to work the beautiful land around us? Have you ever longed to freely enjoy nature every day of the year? Have you ever yearned to live simply without the clutter of the modern rat race? And in the midst of the current pandemic, COVID 19 has proven to us all that we can live anywhere, even on our dream farm, and yet instantly be in the middle of it all. Living a wholesome self-sufficient life may be the most rewarding choice you ever make. It has been for us. 10 years ago we made the move to one of the hidden gems of Maine, a little nook called Wellington. We left the relentless stress of the rat race to find the simple life and grew the homestead/farm of our dreams. Nestled on a quiet paved road with 2 miles distance to our westerly neighbors, we had found the perfect retreat for solitude and freedom. With approximately 16 acres of fields and gardens we quickly acclimated with a milk cow, steers, pigs, chickens, turkeys, fruit trees, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and lush gardens. Within 1 year, our family of 7 had become self sufficient; leaving our grocery bills behind. Over the years we added farmer’s markets and a veggie stand at the end of the driveway. A new tractor, a sawmill, a new equipment barn, a shop and a new animal barn all the while turning the old farmhouse into a well built home. As our farming grew, our sales of farm fresh veggies, meats and fruit did as well. Finally, we turned a first floor room into a commercial kitchen and began to add fresh baked breads, focaccia, pretzels and whoopie pies to our arsenal. Not only were we eating purely organic, naturally grown foods but now we were also making a noteworthy portion of our income through our homesteading. Such a treat to do all of that from such a wonderful farm. If you are considering creating a bountiful farming story of your own and think that our extraordinary farm may be the right one for you, please call or email to arrange a visit. Serious inquiries only please. Proof of mortgage pre-approval necessary for a showing. There is no better place to raise a family or dynamically invest in Maine’s sustainable community as a couple.
