The home has a fireplace in every room and decorative woodwork around all doors and windows. The house has closets in almost every room which is unique in an antebellum home. The magnificent home is one of the oldest in Perry County. It has been deemed a significant landmark by the Alabama Historical Commission and added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage.
