For shopping convenience, Coquina Key Plaza is just two blocks from the southern bridge. A spacious waterfront city park is located on Big Bayou. It offers two lighted soccer fields, four lighted tennis courts, a dog park, a basketball court, a fitness course, children's playground, a large field for playing frisbee, badminton, etc, fishing dock and a scenic view of the bayou. Fort Desoto Pinellas County Park, Skyway Bridge, and the beaches are just a short drive away.
There is also a boat ramp park right off the island with free parking and some of the best fishing around.
