If you live in Sisters, you are familiar with the house. If you don't live in Sisters, it is an iconic piece of architecture that everyone references. I only offer my home for rent to friends and acquaintances, but I am opening it up to the public. If you want to try living in town, this is the spot. Not many houses in town have a mountain view. This is a 4 story home with roof decks, and unbelievable views from every room. There is a park directly across the street. It is 3 blocks from the main highway, far enough away so you can't hear it, but so close to the new wine bar. As far as I know, this is also the only allergen free house for rent in Sisters. I built the space to meet LEED certified standards, and all materials reflect my sensitivity to indoor air quality, and sourcing of products (every stick of wood, minus one, is recycled or FSC certified). Dorn Bracht and Grohe fixtures were used throughout. It is also the only allowed mixed use house in the multi-family district. You do not need to use the downstairs studio as commercial, but it is THE ONLY house where a small business would be allowed. (unless you are in the full commercial zone, on the highway). I designed it for a individual who would want to live above where they work, or have an Opare or mother in law that needs their own living space. The space is divided into 2 units. Each has a separate entrance, and there is a lockable door between both. The street level studio space has recycled fir floors, with 200 year old exposed beams. It has a full kitchen with a gas stove, and an exotic full bathroom. There are 10'x10' custom arched french doors leading out to a private sunken courtyard. The space is 2 stories, and very private. It works great as an office, gallery, in-law apartment, or entertains beautifully as an ancillary 1000 s.f. for the upstairs apartment. The upper apartment's 2 floors have 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms, and a full kitchen. The kitchen has paperstone countertops, real rock backsplash, and a gas stove. There is a traditional wood-burning fireplace with gas assist in the 2 story great room. The master bedroom has french doors leading onto a balcony overlooking the mountains. The master bathroom has a custom trough stainless steel sink, soaking tub, and shower. The tile floor is heated. The floors are recycled from the Jim Beam distillery. All carpet is wool. The roof deck is prepared for a hot tub, with 220 power and water. There is a 2 car garage with 11' tall ceilings. It has a 220 outlet for a welder, or whatever your power /shop needs may be. There are 2 floor drains. I am a designer and builder in Oregon, and I built this for myself, to show clients what is possible. I spared no expense. You will not find a home like this. If you like good design, unique spaces, and epic views, this is the spot for you. I designed the space with intention, and am looking for someone like-minded who will appreciate and enjoy the space.
