About Ridgefield We like to call Ridgefield "The beach town without the beach". You won't discover Ridgefield when you stop for gas or a bathroom break while traveling. Ridgefield is literally in the middle of nowhere but close to everything. There are no major interstates that run through Ridgefield, but there are a few small local routes that pass through. Most people don't even know that Ridgefield exists (and we like it that way). Absolutely everyone here either walks, bikes, runs, or scooters. On any given day the sidewalks are filled with people walking to town. At about 5:30pm entire families walk to town for dinner, coffee, ice cream, or a cocktail. Downtown has a bustle feel and a very festive atmosphere. It's not hard to walk around town and feel as if a parade is just about to start or that you just missed one. In the Spring the maple trees that align main street are tapped for maple syrup. In the fall the town hosts an awesome Halloween festival. In Winter there is the holiday festival in which Ridgefield is transformed to the quintessential holiday town complete with live horse drawn carriage rides and ice sculptures. Despite all of that above, one of the best things to do here is to take a simple walk around and have a look at the massive mansions that align just about every single street in downtown Ridgefield.
