    What's special

This beautiful, high quality, stone-accented home is nestled in the historic picturesque town of Harpers Ferry & Bolivar, which famously is “worth a voyage across the Atlantic” according to Thomas Jefferson. The town is safe, calm, and has a strong community that looks out for all its members. It's a great place to raise kids, with a Blue Ribbon award winning elementary school, two children's parks, and a wonderful public library. Harpers Ferry Middle School is right in town, accessible in minutes by foot or bicycle from the property. But while Harpers Ferry & Bolivar is full of small town charm it's also centrally located on the East Coast. Washington DC and Baltimore are about an hour away by car while Dulles International Airport is about 45 minutes. And if you don't feel like driving there is also a train station right in town, serviced by MARC and Amtrak, that can take you directly to downtown DC in one direction or Pittsburgh in the other. When living in Harpers Ferry & Bolivar you're never really far away from anywhere else. The main feature of the home is the living room, a large space with tons of light coming in from the many windows all day long, it somehow feels airy, spacious and cozy all at once. The only limit to designing this space is your imagination! The kitchen is open with lots of counter space and a large island that ensures that it never feels tight, even when cooking large meals for friends and family coming over. The master and second bedrooms are large with lots of window area and beautiful new bamboo floors, and the third bedroom can either be a child's bedroom, guest room, or a great home office. The two full bathrooms both have bathtubs, and the master bathroom tub is extra large with jets for when you want some relaxing spa time after a long day. The home has a very efficient modern central heating and cooling heatpump system that has been regularly serviced and is automatically backed up by a natural gas furnace for the rare occasions in the deep of winter when the temperatures can drop outside the heat pump efficiency range. The home also has a whole house professional grade water softening and filtering system ensuring that the tap water stays soft and safe, an attached spacious one car garage with an electric car charger, high airflow ceiling fans throughout for those hot summer days, and a natural gas fireplace for cozy winter evenings. Outside you can enjoy the morning sunshine on the large front porch or the afternoon sunshine in the nestled backyard barbequeue spot, and if you have pets they will love the fenced in yard that surrounds the entire home. The home is approximately 19 years old and was found to be an above average quality home for its age according to the inspection report we commissioned when we bought it from the original owners in 2021. While we have made many improvements and additions to the house during our time living in it we have not had any problems, and we attribute this to the above average quality. Living in this house has been an absolute joy! The improvements and additions we have made include: - New water heater - New whole house Negley’s water softener / conditioner and filtering system - https://negleyswater.com/for-your-home/products/ - professional grade - New bamboo floors with a 50 year warranty in two rooms - New induction stove purchased in 2024 - New front load washing machine - New electric vehicle charging system in the garage - New back porch - New front porch posts - Almost every wall in the house was painted when we moved in and got fresh coats to prepare it for selling - Removed old shed and full renovation landscaping of side yard - New wraparound wooden fence, painted white - Freshly professionally power washed house and roof (April 2025) - New fans / lighting Please call Sarah at (206) 451-3732 or Thomas at (206) 940-4096 to schedule a showing.
