This beautiful, stone-accented home is approximately 19 years old, and was found to be an above average quality home for its age according to the inspection report we commissioned when we bought it in 2021. The inspection report also found that “The construction of the home is considered to be good quality. The materials and workmanship, where visible, are above average. The wood frame exterior walls of the home appear to be of 2 x 6 construction. This exceeds common practice and typically provides for extra exterior wall insulation. The building exhibits no evidence of substantial structural movement.” (inspection report available upon request.) We have addressed several findings from the report along with other updates to the house to make it our own: - New water heater - New whole house Negley’s water softener / conditioner and filtering system - https://negleyswater.com/for-your-home/products/ - professional grade - New bamboo floors to replace 2 carpeted rooms - Engineered click-lock planks measure 72-7/8 in long x 5-5/16 in wide x 9/16 in thick - Ultra-low VOC and FloorScore certified, making it safe for families and pets, with adhesives that fall well below E0 emissions standards - Enjoy peace of mind knowing flooring is backed by a 50-year residential warranty and a 15-year light commercial warranty - New induction stove purchased in 2024 - New EV charging system in the garage - New back porch - New front porch posts - Almost every wall in the house was painted when we moved in and got fresh coats to prepare it for selling - Removed old shed and full renovation landscaping of side yard - New wraparound wooden fence - Freshly power washed house and roof (April 2025) - New fans / lighting - Other interior updates - In process of painting fence white Please call Sarah M. at 206-451-3732 to schedule a viewing. Welcome to Bolivar / Harpers Ferry! This picturesque town offers all the feels and sought-after elements of small-town charm. Everything is walkable in this town! It’s only 2 miles from the 340 intersection to Lower Town Harpers Ferry. From our house, you can take a 3-minute stroll to Kelley Farm Kitchen - rated the #1 vegan restaurant in the US by Yelp in 2021. https://www.vrg.org/blog/2021/03/03/yelp-names-kelley-farm-kitchen-in-harpers-ferry-west-virginia-as-the-number-1-restaurant-in-the-usa/ Stop at Snallygaster’s for a drink or non-vegan eats or catch live music and delicious blackberry margaritas at The Barn (right behind Kelley Farm Kitchen and Snallygaster’s). Stroll just 3 more minutes and you’re at the award winning (and our favorite local spot) Bolivar Bread Bakery - voted best bakery in West Virginia in 2024. Keep strolling and soon you’ll be at the location for the upcoming coffee shop - Epigram Coffee - coming to town summer 2024. A few more minutes and you’ve reached Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. This community boasts stunning views of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers and has year-round recreational opportunities with the Appalachian and other trail systems running right through the town and nearby. River Riders offers tubing and kayaking and other activities all summer and sledding during the winter. We love to take our dog for a walk through Woodpecker Woods - beautiful woods and land gifted to the community by a local resident. This trail system spans Bolivar and Harpers Ferry with beautiful stream crossings and access to the river. It sits right behind our house and is one of our favorite things about where we live. Commuting: Many people living here and nearby neighborhoods work in the DMV area. You can commute by car or via the MARC train, which stops in Harpers Ferry and takes you all the way to Union Station in DC - https://www.mta.maryland.gov/schedule/stops/marc-brunswick?direction=1
