This is a story of a home that was built over 240 years ago. At least that is as far back as the owners could trace its beginnings. As far I can tell the architectural styling of the home is English colonial, also known as post medieval. As you enter the front door off the porch you enter, what is now, the center hall foyer. Long ago it was the kitchen area. The walk-in fireplace is still there but has been capped and now has gas logs. The owners have added a new, more spacious kitchen to the home in the form of an addition. The new kitchen has the original exterior stone wall as an appealing backdrop and double sliding glass doors leading to the rear deck. The owners removed the wall between what was originally the dining area and living room. This is evident by recognizing the window trim. In the formal dining there is 24" box trim accents around the deep window sills. The other window sills in the home have been rounded. Now it is a larger living room. The floors are constructed with random width white oak and many of the ceilings have open beams. The second floor consists of a master suite with a walk-in closet, full bath and sitting room. This along with two other bedrooms complete the level. There is also a door to the walk-up attic in the master bedroom. The fenced rear yard is full of color from all the plantings and foliage and includes something this agent has never seen before. At one time the home did not have indoor plumbing (Obviously) so there was a double sided four toilet, his and hers outhouse. It is no longer in use but serves as a great storage shed. There is also a 60 x 24 two-car garage. The exterior stone has been re-pointed and many of the windows replaced. The present owners have been good to the home and they say it has been good to them. Now it seeks a new owner.
