Welcome to the Port Gulch adobe house in Aptos owned by Paul and Doris Aller. Doris was a well known artist and woodcarver who wrote many books on woodcarving. This is a one of a kind house built in 1941 by two San Francisco artists (Paul and Doris) and a core group of friends and contractors. The house was built along with a separate guest house and garage. There are numerous out buildings where Paul and Doris worked and created pottery, wood carvings and tile mosaics and other art. The house was featured on the cover of Sunset magazine in June of 1943 with an article detailing the house and how it was built. There are numerous hand carved beams and doors by Doris throughout the house. The house has been vacant for many years and needs to be cared for and brought back to life. There is a real feeling of history and the love of art at this fantastic one of a kind property. A must see!
