Located on roughly 2.75 acres of woods and lawn the cozy neighborhood of Alfred, ME, our antique house needs some finishing and is priced as such; we have been working to make it a forever-home since 2017, but have to relocate for our careers. During our time here, we've updated most of the wiring, lighting, drywall/plaster, trim, paint, and hardware, and updated insulation where necessary. On the ground floor, particle board tile ceilings were removed to reveal beautiful beams, and exposed vintage heavy timbers were added to increase structural integrity while keeping the rustic character of the home. Opening up to the dining and sitting room, the large eat-in kitchen was updated in 2019 with new built-ins including oak-topped shelves, kitchen counter, & peninsula, and a customizable pull-out pantry. Upstairs, we have almost completely renovated two bedrooms and are working on a third. In the basement, many of the structural elements have been replaced or reinforced. We've redone all the plumbing from scratch; rough supply and waste systems should be finished, pressure-tested, and inspected in the next few weeks, and most of the materials required to finish both bathrooms have already been purchased, including first floor tub & enclosure, WEDI paneling & tile for the 4'x4' shower in the master bath, sinks and fixtures, waterproof laminate flooring & underlayment, and more. The previous owner added a new metal roof and septic system somewhat recently. We will update the listing as we complete more projects, and will include any building materials for projects unfinished at date of sale, including lots of hardwood flooring and brand new stair treads.
