    This historic home in Jericho may be the oldest home built by its early settlers, and is certainly one of the oldest, constructed in the 1800 to 1820 time frame. It's a post and beam home, with vertical plank walls under the siding. A major renovation in 1996 was undertaken to save the house, with a new foundation (poured concrete) under the back section of the home, a new standing seam metal roof, updated electrical and plumbing, a new heating system, new drilled well and septic system. New windows were installed, and a new chimney built with two flues, one for the heating system and the other for a woodstove (the owner has never burned wood). Some of the walls in the home are original plaster walls, some are sheetrock installed during the renovation. Two large rooms at the front of the house function as living and dining rooms with the kitchen and a family room on the back of the house, and a full bath is located on the first floor. The staircase to the second floor located off the kitchen leads to three finished rooms in the front of the house; an unfinished area above the kitchen and family room is ready for expansion, with plumbing in place for another bath. All flooring is soft and hardwood except for the bath. There's plenty of storage space in the basement where you'll find the mechanical systems.
