Ridge Soaring Gliderport, a world-famous airport located in the outskirts of Julian. It offers an office building with store & flight control center, as well as a training center, bunk rooms, and 3 storage hangers for planes. These hangers can accommodate 15 planes and have a reconstruction area for working on the planes. The bunk rooms can accommodate 15 guests and include 4 showers. There are also RV hook-ups and plenty of outdoor storage space. The 90 acres flat land at 815 ft. elevation makes it ideal for flying. Tom Knauff and Doris Grove have set many flight records while running this airport, including flying for movies. NASA and the Air Force Academy have brought their trainees to the airport in the past.
