The previous owner made quite a few updates, including many to the kitchen and bathrooms (island, custom cabinetry, vaulted ceiling, custom lighting). We've spent a lot of time and money on landscaping in the front (flower beds with tulips, lilies, irises) and added privacy fencing in back. We've just repainted the exterior and every room inside (including hallway/entryway) has been repainted since we bought it (except kitchen/DR). Floors are hardwood laminate and carpet, which we've had professionally cleaned every year. We've also done some minor remodeling in the main bathroom, adding more lighting and an exhaust fan. We put in new baseboards when we moved in and have updated the blinds on many of the windows (including plantation shutters in the main bathroom). The A/C and furnace are only 5 years old. Neighborhood Description The neighborhood is quiet and safe, with a good mix of retirees and families with children. The schools are top-notch (arguably the best combination in Springfield) and Horace Mann elementary is just a 5 minute walk, providing plenty of room for play and playground equipment. The neighborhood is also pet friendly and many of the neighbors keep dogs and cats. The work done on Walnut Lawn buffers the neighborhood from traffic while simultaneously easing access to shopping/grocery and increasing safety. Neighbors are friendly and reliable without being intrusive. We've loved our time here.
