THE LOCATION:
The Fields Corner neighborhood in Dorchester is one of Boston's most diverse neighborhoods. It has large communities of Vietnamese, Black, Irish, and Caribbean people, among others. It's a short 3-minute walk to the Fields Corner T station (Red Line). The direct subway ride from Fields Corner to downtown Boston is less than 15 min. and approximately 20 to 25 min. to Central & Harvard Square. It is also a two-block walk to the commercial district on Dorchester Avenue where you can find banks, a post office, shops, restaurants, a library and a bike share station (Blue Bikes). It's a nicely walkable location and great for car-free living.
THE APARTMENT:
It's located on a residential street with agreeable, stable and considerate neighbors living in the building and next door. No wild partying or loud music, etc.
It's a 3rd floor 4 bedroom-2 bath with a kitchen, dining area and living room. Also has a nice front deck with a large tree canopy above it. The bedrooms have good size closets. The building was renovated not long ago and everything (heat, plumbing, electric) is working as it should. It is well suited for a small family or a couple of people working from home and needing office space.
There is common laundry and bike storage in the basement; city bikers welcome! Parking is on the street. We will give preference to applicants who have not more than 1-car, or even better; no car.
THE PEOPLE:
My wife and I own the house and we live in the building next door. We both enjoy living in our neighborhood and are quite active within our community.
Folks living in the building are grad students, social workers, teachers and other professionals. They are all pleasant and respectful neighbors.
YOU:
We are looking for a reasonably clean, quiet, and responsible resident. No loud parties, loud music, smoking or intoxication of any kind on the property please. We prefer no pets but small well behaved pets will be considered. We'll ask you to fill up an application and provide some references.
First and last month rent ($2,100 x 2) is required in order to move in. Heat and hot water are included, tenant pay for the electricity.
The apartment will be available at the beginning of April. Lease terms are negotiable but preference will be given to applicants intending to stay long term -over a year.
Important note: The pictures posted on the ad are from the 1st floor. We didn't take pictures of the third floor because the tenant is in the process of moving out, but the apartment is very similar looking. We will ask people who are interested to tell us a little about themselves before we show the apartment.
